This is the 3 seater Manual Recliner Sofa from the Farndon collection of Celebrity furniture. An attractively designed recliner settee which is just as good to sit in as it is to look at. Each side of the sofa reclines independently to the opposite side & the centre section stays fixed in place.
The back of the sofa features a high cushions which are framed on either side by small neat wings and are fibre filled in both sections offering natural lumbar support as well as support to the back of the head & shoulders too. When upholstered in fabric the settee seat has Mammoth foam interiors which can aid with poor circulation, pressure relief, general ease of movement as well as some pain relief. When upholstered in leather the interiors are a resilient foam which comes back to shape very well after being sat in.
The manual action is operated by either a handle or a latch that is positioned on the outside of the arm of either side of the sofa. Once the action is released the footplate comes up behind the legs to lift and support them, and then the back can be reclined further by pushing backwards. The position the recliner seat holds is then controlled by the users position and centre of weight. To close the recliner up the user can sit forward and the sweep the footplate closed with the back of their legs.
A qualifying person is one that is ‘chronically sick or disabled’ which means :
- a physical or mental impairment which has a long-term and substantial adverse effect on their ability to carry out everyday activities.
- a condition which the medical profession treats as a chronic sickness, such as diabetes, parkinsons, dementia, or a chronic illness which necessitates a complicated medication regime.
- who is terminally ill.
It does not include an elderly person who is not disabled or chronically sick or any person who’s only temporarily disabled or incapacitated, such as with a broken limb.
