This Southwell power recliner chair is made in a petite size specifically for a smaller stature persons use. The seat depth & height are smaller than many others for this purpose. This collection has contemporary overtones which are emphasised by the flat topped
curved dipping arms and high back cushion with angular corners. There is a very large range of fabric or leather coverings available to choose from so matching current colour schemes is rarely an issue.
When upholstered in fabric the chair seat has Mammoth foam interiors which can aid with poor circulation, pressure relief, general ease of movement as well as some pain relief. When upholstered in leather the interiors are a resilient foam which comes back to shape well after being sat in.
The power action is operated by buttons located on the outside of the arm. Once the button pressed the footplate comes up behind the legs to lift and support them, and then the back lowers as required. Once pressure is released from the button the recliner holds in the position. To return to sitting simply press the opposite button and the action smoothly closes up again. There is also a useful USB charging socket within the switch plate so that mobile phones and tablet computers can be charged while sitting in the recliner.
A qualifying person is one that is ‘chronically sick or disabled’ which means :
- a physical or mental impairment which has a long-term and substantial adverse effect on their ability to carry out everyday activities.
- a condition which the medical profession treats as a chronic sickness, such as diabetes, parkinsons, dementia, or a chronic illness which necessitates a complicated medication regime.
- who is terminally ill.
It does not include an elderly person who is not disabled or chronically sick or any person who’s only temporarily disabled or incapacitated, such as with a broken limb.

There is the option for electrically adjustable headrest & lumbar areas too. These are controlled with switches placed on the outside of the arm and are very easy to use.
